HM THE QUEEN MOTHER
When the Queen Mother passed away in 2002 aged 101, it was the end of an era for Britain.
This cover pays tribute to a dearly loved member of the Royal Family, who became a national institution.
There were 3 superb signed editions of this cover. The illustration above is of the edition autographed by Dame Vera Lynn. The three signatories for this cover were:
- Captain William Jonathan de Rouet, Irish Guards: Captain de Rouet was The Queen Mother's Equerry, an important member of her household. When The Queen Mother got her telegram from The Qeen to congratulate her on her 100th birthday, she handed the envelope to Captain de Rouet and asked him to use his sword as a letter opener!
- Juliet Aubrey: Talented actress, Juliet Aubrey, played the Queen Mother in the film Bertie and Elizabeth
- Dame Vera Lynn: Just like the Queen Mother herself, Dame Vera was also an inspiration for Britain during the war years.
